A Better Word features the dynamic preaching and teaching of Nick Gatzke, Senior Pastor of Old North Church in Canfield, Ohio. Through expository preaching, Nick's ministry focuses on developing disciple-making disciples, emphasizing that Christian growth is both caught and taught. With a firm belief that the Gospel spreads as God's people are equipped for His work, A Better Word provides relevant biblical teaching that empowers listeners to engage culture from a gospel-centered perspective.

Each episode kicks off with a spontaneous in-studio discussion between Nick and host Brian Dahlen, tackling a variety of issues impacting today's culture and offering practical insights for living out the Christian faith. Nick's passion for seeing lives transformed through the preaching of Scripture is at the heart of his ministry.

A graduate of Moody Bible Institute (B.A.), Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (M.Div.), and the London School of Theology (Ph.D.), Nick has served as the President of the Evangelical Homiletics Society and is currently a visiting lecturer in Preaching at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Amy, have two children.
